The Poodle is now tied with the Labrador Retriever for the most consecutive years as the AKC’s most popular pup with 22. Often thought to be a fancy, home-bound pet, the Poodle actually likes to get its paws dirty. It was originally bred as a water retriever, and has been known to be a great hunting companion as well as a circus performer.
